Optical POS

Optical POS software that works at the counter, even offline

A general POS rings up items. An optical counter also has to carry an eye power, a lab job and a balance to collect later. Optical Mart bills the sale and keeps those attached to it, and the Windows counter app keeps working when the internet drops.

If your billing counter loses its connection a few times a month, the question is not which POS looks best. It is whether the next customer can still be billed.

What an optical counter needs from a POS

Most of the sale is not the price. It is the refraction, the frame and lens, the promised date and what the customer still owes.

  • Customer and eye power on the bill, with powers checked in 0.25 steps and duplicate readings caught
  • Frame and lens from stock, with labels you can print
  • A lab job and promised date created from the same order
  • Full or part payment, with the balance showing at pickup

Billing, part payments and returns

Bills carry your GSTIN, HSN/SAC codes and the CGST and SGST worked out of the price, and print on A4 or an 80 mm receipt. Part payments, reversals and returning part of a bill are all recorded, and the shop cash book follows them.

Discounts go through coupon codes that the owner sets, with dates, categories, caps and limits. Staff apply a code; the database refuses a discount a staff member types on their own.

Labels, receipts and job sheets

Print Code 128, EAN-13 or QR labels on sheets, rolls or frame tags. Each lab job prints a job sheet with a QR and the power in minus cylinder.

What happens when the internet goes

The counter app installs on Windows 10 and 11. Every bill, payment, refraction and appointment is saved on the counter computer, encrypted, and queued. The queue uploads in order, every hour and the moment the line returns, and nothing is posted twice.

A few things need the website: staff logins and roles, branches and stock transfers, invoice share links and WhatsApp campaigns.
